Inventory breakdown in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3

Inventory break down is the split up of the inventory dimensions such as site, warehouse, Aisles, Location etc.,

In this blog we will be walking through the sites and warehouse.

Path: Inventory management >> Setup >> Inventory breakdown >> Sites.

Site:

Use below procedure to create one or more sites

Path: Inventory management >> Setup >> Inventory breakdown >> Sites.

1. Press CTRL+N to create a new entry or click on New.

2. Enter a unique identifier and a description of the site.

Warehouse:

Use the below procedure to create Warehouse.

Path: Inventory management >> Setup >> Inventory breakdown >> Warehouses.

1. Press CTRL+N to create a new entry or click on New.

2. Enter a unique identifier and a description for the warehouse.

3. In the General Fast Tab, in the Site field, select a site where the warehouse is located.

4. In the Type field, select the type of warehouse.

5. Click Close to save the entry.
